As urban combat becomes unavoidable and highways are used more frequently for high-speed movement, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) are posing the greatest threat to convoys. Warfighters are now faced with the daunting task of recognizing IEDs, maneuvering in an IED environment and responding to successful IED attacks.
The Medium IED Trainer can be placed and detonated in various live training situations including Military Operations on Urbanized Terrain (MOUT) and convoy training operations. It incorporates the best features of the Large IED Trainer (TF155) in a smaller, lightweight package that can be adapted to any number of real-life training scenarios.
In an effort to more closely simulate the devices used by insurgents and terrorists, the Medium IED Trainer is VISMOD ready and can be leveraged for realistic OpFor training. Unlike previous IED simulators, this non-pyrotechnic device enables visual detection training in addition to powerful detonation effects.
